Edit: Oops. Looks like the video is gone now. I’m glad I made the screencaps when I did!
Edit2: Okay, let’s try this new video!
On CTL’s official page, they called this: “Disney XD’s I’m in the Band last episode.” the use of the phrase “last episode” kinda bothers me. Last in the season or what? :/
Well, I asked her on twitter and she said it was the last “of first season.” Whew. I was worried there for a moment!
Anyway, Caitlyn did a great job as always. She has a fantastic voice.
Friends for Change is so stupid. Remember the Happy Helpers club from Wizards? That’s what Friends for Change is.
Anyway, we’re coming up on the one year anniversary of the program, and Disney’s issues a press release about the pledges they’ve gotten so far and what they plan to do going forward.
They also just released a new Friends For Change group picture.
There’s no Miley, no Emily, and no Selena. But they did make sure to include the Disney XD kids. WTF?
Anyway, Disney Press Release Follows:
DISNEY’S FRIENDS FOR CHANGE: PROJECT GREEN KEEPS ON GROWING!
YEAR TWO LAUNCHES WITH NEW VIDEOS FROM DISNEY STARS
AND KID-FRIENDLY WAYS TO SAVE THE PLANET
Nearly 2 Million Promises from Kids to Help the Planet;
2 Million Dollars Donated by Disney to Environmental Charities
May 26, 2010 — Burbank, Calif. — What a difference a year can make, for the planet and for kids! Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green is celebrating its one-year anniversary with the premiere of all-new content. Starting May 30, new on-air messages will begin airing on Disney Channel and Disney XD. They feature nearly 40 Disney stars, including the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, as well as young environmental heroes. The spots will also be featured on Radio Disney and the recently redesigned program website, www.Disney.com/projectgreen.
A Program with Purpose
The aim of this ambitious movement is to empower children to take charge when it comes to the environment, whether it’s their own piece of the planet or a big picture approach.
"With Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green, kids are discovering that helping the planet is easy and fun when they work together and have the right tools,"¯ said Jennifer Anopolsky, senior vice president, Corporate Responsibility, The Walt Disney Company. "In just one year, participation has exceeded our wildest expectations, and we’re building on that momentum by extending Friends for Change to kids in other parts of the world and enhancing the program with fresh new content, local community events, and more grant money that will empower kids with even more ways to get involved."¯
Twelve months after the launch of Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green, kids have made nearly two million personal promises to change their daily routines, from unplugging electrical devices when not in use to taking shorter showers.
Kids can also go global with their votes on where to allocate Disney grant money. As a result, one million dollars in grants from Disney are now supporting 25 critical environmental projects around the world.
With the new videos and web content debuting May 30, young people will learn even more ways to recycle, save water, help habitats and reduce energy consumption. They will also have the opportunity to again vote on how another $1 million in grants will support worthy environmental causes throughout the year.
Kids Making a Difference
Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green is setting the pace for environmental initiative. With nearly two million promises, kids have pledged to:
"¢Cut 70,000 tons of carbon emissions annually
"¢Reduce/recycle 2.4 million pounds of trash annually
"¢Save 120 million gallons of water per month
Kids are also learning about the power of their vote. Thanks to their input, Disney has donated more than one million dollars to 25 environmental projects in 15 countries, including:
"¢$50,000 to the National Resource Council to help fund a forest restoration project in Costa Rica.
"¢$25,000 to the African Wildlife Foundation to help protect elephant habitats in Zambia.
Kids can turn their own local environmental project into a reality. Disney’s Friends for Change grants, in collaboration with Youth Service America, provide seed money to help get them started. The next call for grant applications opens June 7. To date, these grants have positively influenced nearly 8,000 kids. See http://www.youthserviceamerica.org/grants/programs/friends-for-change for more information.
Kids can also help raise money through iTunes downloads of Disney’s Friends for Change anthems "Send It On"¯ and "Make a Wave."¯ At last count, nearly 700-thousand dollars, representing 100-percent of download proceeds, have been contributed to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green is set expand locally and globally in the coming year:
"¢Local events in cities across the country will inspire kids through hands-on experiences, including tree-planting and clean-ups. The first event kicks off June 6th, World Oceans Day, at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
"¢Disney’s Friends for Change: Project Green launched last month in Latin America. Kids have already made more than 200,000 promises! European markets are next in line.

Caitlyn Taylor Love of Disney XD’s I’m in the Band partook in a new Friends For Change activity last month with fellow DC and DXD stars like Ryan Newman.
Which I can only assume means that Disney plans to continue this idiotic exercise. But that’s another topic.
Notice the “Kids You Inspired” poster in the background. LOL
Not only is Caitlyn a cutie, but she can hold her own even next to Demi!
And it sure was nice of her to post these behind the scenes pics on her facebook for us.
The Disney XD original series I’m In The Band will be returning for Season 2. Season one ended production some time ago, so I’m glad to see Disney channel’s Gary Marsh formally announce the new season today. Now if they’d only do the same for Wizards…
I think I’m In The Band is a decent series. I’ve only seen six episodes so far, but I’m looking forward to seeing more. The creators have developed a unique premise for a show, and assembled a perfect cast to pull it off.
Official Disney Press release follows:
COMEDY SERIES “I’M IN THE BAND” STRIKES A CHORD
WITH A SECOND SEASON ORDER ON DISNEY XD
A second season of “I’m In The Band,” a music-filled, live-action comedy series about a teenager who realizes his wildest dream when he joins his favorite “vintage” rock band, has been ordered by Disney XD, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. Production will resume in June in Hollywood, California.
The new season finds the band inching their way closer to an epic comeback and includes a one-hour special where Tripp joins arch-rival rock band Metal Wolf. Iron Weasel attempts to lure him back during Metal Wolf’s performance at the Super Bowl, and by happenstance, ends up stealing the spotlight.
“I’m In The Band’s” February 2010 premiere is Disney XD’s No. 1 series premiere on record in Total Viewers and Tweens 9-14, and the net’s No. 1 live-action series premiere ever across core kid and boy demos: Kids 6-14, Boys 6-14, Kids 6-11, Boys 6-11 and Tween Boys. The multi-camera comedy is from creators Michael B. Kaplan (“Frasier,” “Girlfriends”) and Ron Rappaport (“Date My Mom”) and is executive-produced by Kaplan and Richard Gurman (“Married"¦with Children,” “Still Standing”).
The series stars Logan Miller as Tripp Campbell, Steve Valentine as Derek Jupiter, Greg Baker as Burger Pitt, Stephen Full as Ash and Caitlyn Taylor Love as Isabella “Izzy” Fuentes.
“I’m In The Band” follows Tripp Campbell as he joins his favorite “vintage” rock band, Iron Weasel, and becomes determined to help the band he idolizes make an epic comeback. He’s certainly got his work cut out for him with the trio of rock star misfits whose stars have fallen so far that they can’t even afford their own housing and are forced to share bunk beds in a guest room at Tripp’s house. Nonetheless, in their own off the wall way, the three stooges will do their best to help Tripp steer through his teenage years with the goal of turning him into a bona fide rock star and giving him the chance to live out his dream.
The series is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions and carries a TV-Y7 parental guideline.
Newcomer Caitlyn Taylor Love stars as “Isabella ‘Izzy’ Fuentes, Tripp’s best friend and neighbor in the Disney XD comedy series “I’m In The Band.”
